Spicy Shrimp and Sausage Skillet

These little shrimps bring this skillet to life in this Spicy Shrimp and Sausage Skillet. This is an amazing dish which goes perfect for dinner or for lunch when you’re craving a little seafood.

You can use fresh or frozen shrimp for this dish, and of course if you don’t like it as spicy you can use mild sausage as a substitute for the hot sausage. Also, if you prefer you can remove the shrimp tails before mixing them in with the skillet after they get cooked. This may make eating it a little bit more convenient. It depends on your style – but you’ll have a lot of style if you eat this delicious dish!

There is a myriad of healthy veggies and meats in this dish which gives it a perfect balance of fats, proteins, and carb. Definitely ideal for the paleo lifestyle and ideal for your body too. The shrimp itself contains some pretty diverse nutrients including 100% of your daily value of selenium. It also contains good amounts of vitamin B12, choline, phosphorus, iodine, and copper. All essential nutrients to the human body.

Spicy Sausage and Shrimp Skillet

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until opaque in the center, about 5 minutes. Stir often. Place cooked shrimp on a plate and set aside.
  2. Add 2 Tbsp olive oil to a skillet and sauté the onion until translucent, about 4 minutes. Add the peppers and sausage and cover to cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  3. Stir in the zucchini and garlic to the skillet.
  4. Add the tomato paste and chicken broth to the skillet, stir, and season with spices (1/2 tsp basil, ½ tsp thyme, ½ tsp oregano, ¼ tsp red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.) Cook for 5-7 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  5. Add the shrimp and cook and additional 3 minutes to combine all of the flavors throughout the dish.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
